The Man by the Lights

2016-09 / Belgrade, Serbia

This is what I mean about graffiti in eastern Europe. Originally, I was afraid of graffiti. Where I come from, you'll only find any of it in the "bad" parts of town--the places you do not want to go. So, when I was first in Russia and saw all of the spray-painted markings on old buildings, I thought I was going to be murdered at any moment. But, it turns out that graffiti is just something that happens and it can often be very lovely. This is true for Serbia, as well. This photo was taken in Belgrade down in one of their main squares. We had a drink outside and then wandered around and were met with nothing but nice people everywhere we went.
